Message from the Principal

Welcome to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School. This co-educational school, situated on 4.5 hectares with sweeping mountain views, opened its doors to children in January 1978 and was officially opened on 16 April in that year.

School commenced with thirty children in Years One and Two under the direction of foundation principal Mr Jack Eales. In recent years, our enrolment numbers have been increasing as the Bald Hills and Bracken Ridge areas continue to develop. Enrolments are currently over 690 with children in classes from Prep to Year Six.

St Joseph's has changed significantly since the school’s opening, with the addition of many new buildings. We currently have excellent facilities to enhance student learning with a senior years' facility opened in 2022 and new multi-purpose court.

All classrooms have air-conditioning and include state of the art technology. These projects are part of a long-term strategy to meet enrolment demand and to continue to develop modern first-class educational facilities to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.

Today, St Joseph's School, in strong partnership with the parish priest and parish community, is recognised for proudly offering quality, inclusive, Catholic education. As the school has grown and changed it has continued to build on the traditions established by the early community of St Joseph's. A spirit of justice and love for all continues to flow through the entire school community. This is further strengthened by the traditions established by the parents and staff members over the past forty-three years, living the school motto of "Jesus in Each Other".

Building on the work of the past years and being the educational leader of this fine school is both a privilege and a challenge. I look forward to the opportunity to be part of the story of St Joseph's School and to contribute to the school's ongoing development in partnership with each member of the school community.
